In 2003, Obang and his mother were separated, as war and genocide invaded the Anuak tribe in Ethiopia. After spending 11 years in Kalobeyi refugee camp, Obang was finally resettled in Perth Australia, and eventually granted an opportunity through Perth Bible College’s International Mission Teams, to go back to Africa and reunite with his mother after 15 years. Not knowing if he’d ever see her or his people again, Obang’s faith and love of God allowed him to never lose hope in being reunited with his people. The heart that he has for his tribe is truly special to watch and it is a privilege to watch this story as it continues to unfold!
This moment took place back in 2019, right before the pandemic occurred, and we are on the journey to reunite a mother and son once again, as we are hoping to raise funds to bring Obang’s mother to his current destination here in Perth Australia. We are raising funds for her visa, flights, quarantine, and any other expenses that may come up along the way.
